Lachwa
We also visited Lachwa, a town nearby. A family tree, sketchy in parts, said I had an ancestor there, a teamster.
Lachwa was leveled during the war, but the Jewish population turned on Nazis and local henchmen who thought to march
them off to killing fields. Some fled to join the partisans, others were tracked down and murdered.
Lachwa, like Lenin, lives again today. We strolled around the town square.
