Villager Evgeni Samusevich stands near a monument in the Lachwa's town square. The monument tells of the
September, 1942 uprising by Jews who were about to be killed by Nazis and their police henchmen.
It says in part "To the memory of the Jews of Community of Lachwa - the first ones to revolt - who in their last moments before their execution, fell upon the
nazi murderers and with axes and knives, and killed or wounded dozens among them..."
