In a prewar 20th century Lenin was a border town. Nestled on the Polish side of the River Sluch, the stream
separated Poland and the Soviet Union. The Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression pact of 1939 moved the border westward. Today, Lenin
is deep in Belarus. This bridge was built after the war. Only a few wood piles remain of the span that once separated
Poland and the Soviet Union.
In summer the Sluch is idyllic. Wildflowers grow abundantly on its banks.
