Phuong Nam, 2nd left, was the National Liberation Front press officer assigned to the NLF and Hanoi liaison mission to Camp Davis, Tan Son Nhut airport, Saigon. The Paris Peace accord of 1973 set up reciprocal missions in Saigon and Hanoi. Journalists were admitted to the tightly guarded compound each Saturday for a press conference, but most mission members were virtual prisoners until April 30 1975, when their forces overran Saigon. When the shooting died they emerged as victors. The panoramic image above was made in 1973. The image below shows Phuong Nam today. He is retired and lives in Saigon.
