Not completely. During the Vietnam war a correspondent might outfit himself handsomely in camouflage fatigues, helmet and shrapnel-proof vest at Saigon's Dan Sinh Market. Clocks and other instruments purloined from U.S. helicopters were on sale, also bric-a-brac abandoned by Americans. The market thrives today, selling memorabilia of both sides.
