There is a mystery here. In 1972 or 1973 a GI gave me a snapshot, handcolored, showing a young Vietnamese woman. The photo was flotsam of battle, cut loose from the meaning it once had. The pith helmet suggested she was in the North Vietnamese military. The inscription on the back of the image indicates it was a souvenir snapshot, possibly given to a younger sister. Where is the young woman now? Deceased? Entering a kindly middle age?
