Mother Featherlegs Shepherd

On this lonely stretch of dirt road near Lusk, WY, there was once a stop on the Deadwood-Cheyenne stage. Mother Featherlegs Shepherd, so named for her ruffled undergarments, ran a house there. She was murdered in 1879 for her money. This monument was erected in 1964.
